Pregnancy
During pregnancy, women may experience pregnancy-related pain. We treat and manage a range of pelvic floor and musculoskeletal conditions that many women encounter during pregnancy.
Our treatments assist with pain and maintenance of your muscles during pregnancy, such as:
Pelvic girdle pain / SIJ pain.
Lower back pain / sciatic.
Neck and thoracic pain.
Rib pain.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Also known as tingling in your hands).
Pelvic floor symptoms like urinary incontinence, constipation, and pelvic pain.
Birth preparation from 34 weeks:
this includes advice on delivery, assessing the tightness of your pelvic floor muscle, screening for tearing of the perineum, teaching perineum stretching to reduce tearing risk, and checking your delivery technique.
Postnatal
Postnatal physiotherapy can address a range of concerns that women may experience after giving birth.
We recommend every woman have an appointment with a pelvic floor physiotherapist around six weeks postpartum to check your recovery, particularly pelvic floor muscles.
Common concerns that your Physiotherapist will assess and assist you with postnatally include:
Abdominal Separation or DRAM.
Prolapse symptoms include Vaginal heaviness/bulging.
Lower back pain.
Intercourse pain.
Urinary incontinence.
Faecal incontinence
Constipation
Mastitis
De Quervain’s: thumb pain “from picking bub up”
Musculoskeletal/ pelvic / tailbone / pubic pain.
Sporting

Pelvic Dysfunction
Physiotherapy is a common way to assist in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. We're experienced in treating women at any stage of life. Pelvic floor physiotherapy treatments can include techniques to retrain/strengthen or relax your pelvic floor muscles and supports to assist your pelvic organs.
Pelvic floor disturbances that may be experienced are:
